The Housing Authority of Stanislaus County (HA) operates public housing and the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program in Stanislaus County, including the city of Oakdale. The HCV Program provides eligible applicants with a “voucher” that allows the applicant to find housing in the private rental market. The tenant pays a portion of the rent to the owner, and the Housing Authority pays the remainder. Additionally, the Housing Authority has subsidized apartment complexes (public housing) throughout Stanislaus County. These properties are owned and managed by the Housing Authority and are offered to eligible applicants as vacancies occur.
