VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY INFORMATION
 
Applicants will be assessed on the application materials submitted and on the results of interviews. Applicants considered to be the most qualified will be invited to continue in the application process. The selection process may consist of any combination of a written examination, performance test and/or interviews.

The Oakdale CIVICS Volunteer Program is currently accepting applications for the programs or projects listed below.  Once you have completed an application please submit it to the the City of Oakdale City Hall, 280 North Third Avenue, Oakdale, CA 95361.  Once your application has been received you will be contacted for an interview. Farmer's Market Support Volunteer
 
Volunteer will provide support to the weekly Farmer's Market in the downtown area. Support includes setting up location, assist market vendors to their designated booth location, monitor the activity during the market hours, and assist with clean-up and reopening of the area to normal business. Assignment starts June 1st.

Clerical Assistant - Finance Department
 
Volunteer will perform a variety of routine clerical work, including filing, copying, and scanning documents.

Service Request Customer Service Volunteer
Home based assignment using email, internet, and telephone to receive service requests from Oakdale citizens.

C.A.P.S. Police Volunteer
Volunteers will assist in delivering services under the direction of the Police Department. Activities include senior outreach, city event traffic control, vehicle patrols, accident traffic control, documentation transit services, and other related activities.

T.A.G. Graffiti Abatement Volunteer
Volunteers assist the Police Department in reporting and abating graffiti on public and private property within Oakdale city limits. Abatement activities involve removing or covering graffiti using chemical removers or paint.

Animal Shelter Volunteers
Volunteers will assist the Police Department Animal Control Officers in maintaining Oakdale's animal shelter and assisting in the care and feeding of animals being housed at the shelter.

Youth Sports Coach
Under the direction of the recreation coordinator, volunteers provide instruction and supervision at youth sports activities. Coaches work with youth ages 5-18 in a variety of sports; soccer, flag football, vollyball, softball, and basketball.

Volunteers support special City events such as the Christmas Parade, National Night Out, Spring Festival, and other events.
