Welcome to the official web site of the Oakdale City Fire Department.  We're proud to provide you with information on the services we make available to the City and the greater Oakdale community. Department is a full-service fire protection agency under the general law of the City of Oakdale.  Like all fire protection agencies, we strive to meet the challenges of today’s needs and expectations.  In order to accomplish this, we have strong working relationships with our neighboring fire agencies:  Oakdale Rural Fire Protection District and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District.  All three agencies participate in Automatic and Mutual Aid to provide a strong emergency response to the greater eastern Stanislaus County.

Oakdale Fire Station 2

The Department is changing to meet today’s expectations. We now currently staff two stations, with the opening of the new fire station # 2 in May of 2006. Our Department is made up of nineteen paid personnel assigned to emergency response, one part time Fire Chief, one part time Fire Marshal and one Administrative Assistant.  The fifteen personnel assigned to shift work a 56-hour work week, working 48 hours on and 96 hours off. This schedule has worked well for us by producing better connectivity between all members of the department.  We have a reserve staff of six fire fighters who dedicate their time and service to the community.

The Oakdale City Fire Department and The Oakdale Fire Protection District have come to an agreement to provide a better service to the greater Oakdale Community. OFPD has provided the OFD with a firefighter for each shift to keep OFD station 5 staffed with three personnel. In return OFD provides service to OFPD's station ones area which was closed due to budget cuts. So on a daily basis OFD station 5 (325 East G Street, Oakdale) is staffed with Three firefighters. Two being City employees and one from the district.  OFD Station 4 (450 S. Willowood, Oakdale) is staffed with two city employee's. OFPD rotates between Valley Home and Knights Ferry stations being open depending on what shift is on duty. Our collective goal is to open station all four stations if there enough personnel to safely do so.

The Department funding is generated from the General Fund and accounts for 30% of the general fund account.

OES :: Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

The Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan is a countywide plan that identifies risks posed by disasters, and identifies ways to minimize damage from those disasters. The plan is a comprehensive resource document that serves many purposes, including: enhancing public awareness and understanding, creating a decision tool for management, promoting compliance with State and Federal program requirements, enhancing local policies for hazard mitigation capability, and providing inter-jurisdictional coordination.
