The City of Oakdale General Plan provides a long-term policy guide for the physical, economic and environmental growth of the City. It encompasses what the City is now, and what it intends to be, and it provides an overall framework of how to achieve this future condition. It includes a 20-year land use boundary, as well as provides consideration to longer term planning related issues in an area called the Primary Study Area (PSA). It provides a circulation network and an overview of a facility plan to support the 2015 Boundary area. Housing needs and conservation of natural resources are addressed in a Housing Action Plan and Open Space Action Program.
