Municipal Volunteer Program (MVP)

Volunteerism with the City is a fairly new concept for Oakdale; however, a City Volunteer Program can help to enrich the community and bring together the Citizens and the City.  We believe that we have the best Citizens here in Oakdale!  Our community is like a family; we care about each other, assist each other and support each other!  This Volunteer Program allows all Citizens the opportunity to work together and strengthen their relationship with their City and each other.  Opportunities are available throughout all the City departments.  Just select “volunteer descriptions” and see what fits you best!

Volunteers are a vital part of creating a City of Inclusion.  Whether you are volunteering two hours or twenty hours, you are a representative of the City of Oakdale and we ask that our volunteers follow specific guidelines.  You do need to fill out an application and go through a placement interview.  We believe that it is important to place a volunteer in an appropriate position based on their skills, interests and passion.            volunteer_application                                 

Volunteering for a City program can be flexible and you decide what amount of time that you can dedicate.  Some programs are just a few hours while other can be a long-term assignment.

The Municipal Volunteer Program (MVP) Vision is to strengthen the community of Oakdale by engaging our Citizens through volunteer programs and projects with the City.  We believe that a strong partnership between the City and the Citizens will create a better quality of life for all of our community members.
