Welcome to the official web site of the Oakdale City Fire Department. We're proud to provide you with information on the services we make available to the City and the greater Oakdale community. Department is a full-service fire protection agency under the general law of the City of Oakdale. Like all fire protection agencies, we strive to meet the challenges of today’s needs and expectations. In order to accomplish this, we have strong working relationships with our neighboring fire agencies: Oakdale Rural Fire Protection District and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District. All three agencies participate in Automatic and Mutual Aid to provide a strong emergency response to the greater eastern Stanislaus County.
The Department is changing to meet today’s expectations. We now currently staff two stations, with the opening of the new fire station # 2 in May of 2006. Our Department is made up of nineteen paid personnel assigned to emergency response, one part time Fire Chief, one part time Fire Marshal and one Administrative Assistant. The sixteen personnel assigned to shift work a 56-hour workweek, working 48 hours on and 96 hours off. This schedule has worked well for us by producing better connectivity between all members of the department. We have a reserve staff of six fire fighters who dedicate their time and service to the community.
The Department funding is generated from the General Fund and accounts for 30% of the general fund account. 2010/2011 Fire Department Budget
