We're very proud of our organization, the services and programs we offer to the residents of Oakdale, and the men and women of the organization who serve the community. The Department has a proven record of providing superior services to the community by blending professionalism and compassion. The Department's "Mission" is to work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life through community partnerships in Oakdale. This mission is served by "Value" and "Vision" statements which the organization developed through a collaborative effort with the community. It's the Mission, Values and Vision statements that guide the Department in its daily activities. I would encourage you to view each of these statements to gain a better understanding of the core from which the Department functions. The Oakdale Police Department has 28 sworn officers, 13 non-sworn support personnel and a host of volunteers in various positions. The Department is organized within three different Divisions: Administrative Services, Field Services and Special Services. ******Oakdale PD Lobby hours Change******
Effective Wednesday, July 15, 2009, Oakdale Police Chief Marty West is announcing that the lobby of the Police Station will be closed on Wednesdays. Currently, the police lobby is open to the public from 8:00 A.M. to 4 P.M., Monday through Friday. During the hours when the lobby is open, citezens can request police reports; report a crime; obtain a vehicle release; request an officer to inspect a vehicle for a corrected mechanical violation; take possession of property recovered by police; or register with police as required by state or federal court.
Due to budget constraints, the new hours of opening will be from 8:00 A.M. to 4 P.M., on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Walk-in traffic in the police lobby is lighter on Wednesdays that any of the five business days of the week. The lobby will continue to be closed on Saturdays and Sundays and legal holidays. In the event of an emergency or for the need to speak with an officer, citizens may elect to come directly to the Police Station.
